Public toilets in Dartmoor

43 public toilets within Dartmoor National Park, and 53 more just outside.

If you're scrambling up Haytor, walking out to Wistman's Wood or just letting the children loose by the river at Postbridge, Dartmoor keeps its facilities in the villages and at the main car parks rather than out on the open moor. The National Park runs public toilets at Haytor, Postbridge, Meldon Reservoir and Venford, and the visitor centre at Princetown is a good place to begin a day.

The moor itself is wild and open, which is the joy of it, but it does mean no conveniences once you're walking out among the tors and the bogs. Go before you leave the car park, and on a long day plan your route past a village if you can.

The map shows what's open near your start point, worth a check on a busy summer weekend or before heading somewhere remote like the northern moor.

Accessibility
The Haytor visitor centre has an adapted toilet with parent and baby changing, and the Princetown centre has accessible toilets too. There's no Changing Places facility on the moor, so for adult changing you'll be looking to the edge towns.
Seasonal
The toilets at Venford are open from April to October only, and some village loos cut their hours in winter; the Princetown centre and the larger honeypots are the most reliable off-season.
Where the gaps are
Nothing out on the open moor, so the car park or village loo is your last chance before a long walk among the tors.
