Public toilets in Exmoor

38 public toilets within Exmoor National Park, and 20 more just outside.

Exmoor packs a lot into a small park, from the cliffs and the Valley of Rocks at Lynton and Lynmouth to the red deer on the high moor and the pretty streets of Dunster, which has public toilets at the car park below the National Park centre. The twin coastal villages are particularly well served: Lynton and Lynmouth have eight public toilets between them, with another at the National Park centre on the Lynmouth esplanade.

Inland, on the open moor around Simonsbath and the high tops, it's a different matter, with long quiet stretches and nothing once you're walking. The coast path along this stretch is glorious but steep and remote in places, so use the facilities in the village before you set off.

Check the map for what's open near your route, handy whether you're after a gentle riverside stroll or a proper day on the moor.

Accessibility
Most of the Lynton and Lynmouth toilets, the Valley of Rocks and Lee Abbey among them, have accessible cubicles, and the National Trust block at Watersmeet does too; Barbrook is the main Lynton site without one. There's no Changing Places facility recorded in the park, so check the listing for the nearest accessible toilet to your route.
Seasonal
The Lynmouth National Park centre runs 10am to 5pm in summer and 10am to 3pm in winter, and coastal and village toilets may cut hours off-season; the main resort villages are your safest year-round stops.
Where the gaps are
The high moor and the remoter coast-path sections have nothing, so plan around the villages and the cliff-top car parks.
