Public toilets in Eryri (Snowdonia)

110 public toilets within Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, and 77 more just outside.

Whether you're queuing for the path up Yr Wyddfa from Pen-y-Pass, riding the railway from Llanberis or pottering round Betws-y-Coed and Beddgelert, Eryri (Snowdonia) keeps most of its facilities in the villages and at the major trailheads. Llanberis, Beddgelert and Dolgellau have public toilets, and the big mountain car parks at Pen y Pass, Rhyd Ddu and Pont Bethania have a block beside them, open around the clock all year.

The mountains themselves have almost nothing once you're climbing. The summit visitor centre on Yr Wyddfa opens seasonally with the railway, usually from mid-May, but you can't count on it, so the rule on every big Welsh peak is to go in the valley first. The next proper loo from a ridge could be a long, steep descent away.

Use the map to check what's open near your start, essential on a fine weekend when Pen-y-Pass fills before breakfast and the honeypots are heaving.

Accessibility
The National Park's own toilets at the main trailheads and warden centres have accessible cubicles, and the council loos in Llanberis, Beddgelert and Dolgellau are on the RADAR scheme; Nant Peris in particular needs a RADAR key. There's no Changing Places facility listed among the park's mountain toilets, so plan around the valley sites.
Seasonal
The summit centre on Yr Wyddfa only opens with the seasonal railway from mid-May to autumn, and the Nant Peris park-and-ride and some village loos close out of season; the trailhead car parks at Pen y Pass, Rhyd Ddu and Pont Bethania stay open all year.
Where the gaps are
Everything is in the valleys and at the big car parks; the climbs themselves are loo-free, so the trailhead is your last stop.
