Public toilets in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons)

42 public toilets within Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, and 44 more just outside.

Whether you're walking up Pen y Fan from the Storey Arms, browsing the bookshops in Hay-on-Wye or exploring the waterfalls and caves of the southern valleys, Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) keeps its facilities in the towns and at the main car parks. Brecon, Crickhowell and Talgarth have public toilets, and the two big visitor centres, the Mountain Centre near Libanus and Garwnant in the south, both have free toilets and a Changing Places facility.

The high ground, the Beacons themselves and the long ridge walks, has nothing once you're up there, and the weather can turn the day serious quickly, so use the loo at the car park or visitor centre before you set off. The Mountain Centre, open daily 10am to 4pm, is a good anchor for a day on the central Beacons.

Look at the map before you head out, particularly on a clear weekend when the Pen y Fan car parks fill up early.

Accessibility
Both flagship centres have full Changing Places facilities with baby changing: the Mountain Centre's is open during its 10am to 4pm hours, and Garwnant's is opened with a RADAR key from the Forest Café. For accessible council toilets elsewhere, the Powys National Key Scheme map is the place to look.
Seasonal
Smaller village and car park toilets can cut hours in winter; the towns and the two visitor centres are the more reliable off-season stops.
Where the gaps are
The ridges and summits have nothing, so the trailhead car park or visitor centre is your last chance before a long day on the tops.
