Public toilets on the Gower Peninsula

16 public toilets within the Gower Peninsula National Landscape boundary, and 38 more just outside.

Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is basically one long run of superb beaches — Rhossili, Port Eynon, Oxwich, Three Cliffs, Caswell and round to Mumbles — and Swansea Council backs it up better than most: the blocks at Rhossili, Port Eynon and Horton stay open 24 hours a day, all year, free.

The show-offs are the Changing Places facilities at three of the big beaches — Rhossili, Caswell Bay and Knab Rock in Mumbles — with the Rhossili and Knab Rock rooms open around the clock to RADAR-key holders. The famous gap is Three Cliffs Bay: the nearest toilets are up at the Southgate car park (8am–7pm), a decent walk from the sand, and the wilder north side of the peninsula — Llangennith, Whiteford, Llanrhidian — has next to nothing, so the surf crowd should go before they cross the island.

Check the map before you pick your beach; the honeypots on the south coast are well covered, but the coast path between them, and everything north of Rhossili Down, is on its own.

Accessibility
Changing Places toilets at Rhossili, Caswell Bay and Knab Rock (Mumbles) — Rhossili and Knab Rock open 24 hours with a RADAR key, Caswell staffed daytime. Most other accessible cubicles on the peninsula are RADAR-locked; Knab Rock's is open access.
Seasonal
Rhossili, Port Eynon and Horton run 24 hours year-round. The seasonal blocks — Caswell, Langland, Oxwich village and the Mumbles sites — stay open all year but close earlier in winter (around 4pm–5.30pm instead of 7pm–9pm).
Where the gaps are
Three Cliffs Bay itself (climb to Southgate), the Port Eynon–Rhossili cliff miles, and virtually the whole north coast of the peninsula. The Wales Coast Path between villages is a facility-free zone.
